The students of our current batch FT 2009, has released their first animation film..'Go Green'.
The director was Abhilash (in the photos). Well as a witness to their entire project...I would say Hatzz off!!! cause this entire 1m 20 sec movie was created in 3 weeks after which the documentation was done. The video is also posted. Myself and Mr.Abhilash Srinivas (my collegue at MSRSAS, http://abhilashsrinivas.blogspot.com ) had a wonderful time at the Game Design Workshop in Mumbai's Hotel Renaissance.
Mr. Ernest Adams was at his best when he conducted a 50-50 workshop consisting of Theory session and Practical session in game design. For more info regarding, Mr. Adams take a look at http://www.designersnotebook.com/ Some of the companies present at the workshop (that i met) were Ubisoft, TigerTail Studios, Indiagames etc.) Meanwhile a group picture of all us at the conference Happy to post my new video (first video on YouTube) of the Unreal Development Kit (UDK) game level #1. This level is built on a game concept that i thought about and am trying to materialize. Please check this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0olF_fe-kw
Game/Gameplay Features - Just about 6 levels (or even less) max - To be made has witty as possible - Actions are normal i.e. the character doesn't have to use large stunts - More focus on the gameplay rather than the actions - The artwork is the last objective since UDK has got default actions A self reminder that i need to be committed to these features and playable by all..... About UDK: Highly advanced game engine www.udk.com Why did i choose? Got a lot of features that i could create a game prototype with (but not sticking to it since i need freedom and freedom is with OGRE, Qt, OpenGL etc.) cao.. Hi all,
Wonderful to see a level modeled in Maya and rendered in XNA GS. Please see the "Current" tab for development updates. Though its going slow...i won't be stopping the development .... I am onto the Maya study. Till now, the Sofware tutorial works just fine. Studying this is surely interesting..
What do i do...I am having a learning trouble using Blender to get simple rigs fast enough for the game. Though Blender is a good modeling tool, learning it is really slow.
Will switching over to 3D Studio Max / Maya, speed up the content development process? A tough decision...I am atleast 10% in the Blender study already and switching to another software really makes me ponder. Currently, i am working on an indie game development. Check out the "Current" tab for more details.
A lot of time was spent (and maybe more in the future) in exporting the model from Blender to XNA. From what i have seen Blender's top view or x z coordinates is XNA render's front view or x y coordinates. The character is not modeled by me, it is just a temporary setup that i had taken from the Blender Magazine Issue #2. I will be using "MakeHuman" in the end since the tool gives really good 3D character models with poses and Hair styles. But that will be done towards the end since a good amount of time is going to be spent on Animation / Character Modeling / Lighting etc. Cheers Hi guys..Do blog at this page. Your feedbacks would be very helpful in improving the site and and surely my work flow..
